Love and Hip Hop New York Season 6

For those who do not follow the show Love and Hip Hop is a reality show about people involved in the hip hop industry who are trying to come up. There are old artists who have fallen off the wagon and want to get their name back up, producers and DJ's who are also trying to get their name known, and their are also upcoming artists who have a a bit of popularity but are trying to get into the more a mainstream outlet. The show is a bit controversial because some of the topics and things done might not be to a lot of peoples liking, however a lot of people follow the show as it is entertaining.

Personality I have not watched all of the seasons, but since Cardi B was advertised to be on the new one I had to start watching it. Cardi B is an instagram sensation who got her fame from saying what is on her mind. She comes from a very poor and hard lifestyle and but has managed to climb up and is now being featured in a VH1 show. I was a little disappointed as she was not shown in the first episode. Instead they showed other cast members and their stories. Remy Ma, Yandy, and even Young B. Young B was the little girl who made "Chicken Noodle Soup" song, which I remember from middle school. She has been out of the limelight for 9 years and now is trying to go back into the industry

I found the  stories of the other cast members a bit slow, through it might be because it was the first episode. There was a rap cipher among women and the only person that was okay was Young B in my opinion all the other girls were not up to the level that they should be if they are trying to come up. I thought I had more potential then them, which gave me hope because if they are getting attention for what they are writing then why not me.

I am exited to see how each cast member will grow and to see Cardi b and the opportunities this show might bring her way.

Questions

Lately I have been questioning what I really want to do in life. It might have to do with the fact that the end is almost near, everything that I have been working towards is one semester away and its finally setting in. I have expressed my passion for music in the posts that I have written prior to this one, and I still feel the same way I love music and the entertainment industry as a whole. But lately I have also been enjoying some of the tasks that I used to find annoying in the past. Things like competitive advantage frameworks and writing reports about Michael Porters five forces for companies and industry's(International Business topics). Marketing is also something that has been interesting me for a while now. I keep thinking about all of the effort I have put in and the sleepless nights that I have stayed up in the library and all of the stress I have gone through this semester. All to start again from zero if I decide to go into the music industry, since it will be like starting a new career.

Although there is endless amounts of knowledge that I have obtained which I can use to start marketing my brand it will still be a difficult task. Things like starting music businesses are ideas that have came to me as I ask myself what will happen after I graduate, but I keep wanting to be the person that shines. One thing about the music industry specially the rap industry is the image that it portraits, as a future business executive I have had to keep that in mind and be careful about certain things I say or post on social media since I will be looking for a job after graduation. That is one of the things that I a bit worried about. I spent a lot of time working and it would be a shame that it will all go down the drain because of image issues.

One can only hope for the best, next semester will be my last and hopefully god will enlighten me as to what path I should take next.
